“If the Academy Awards got you itching to get in front of the camera and finally make it in the movies, then Videopia might well be the perfect first step on the road to Oscar glory.” The Guardian

Halfway though our festival tour… Thank you Latitude, Secret Garden Party & Camp Bestival!

July has been a crazily busy and super fun month for Videopia. We begun our festival tour at Latitude, then headed to Secret Garden Party, before finishing up at the gloriously sunny Camp Bestival. Our stripey horsebox is now parked up in a field in Devon having a much deserved break before we embark on the second part of our roadshow starting with Green Man. We’ve made almost 50 movies with wonderfully eager festival goers so far… let’s see how many we can make in August! If you’re heading to Green Man, Shambala, End of the Road or Bestival – come and say HELLO!

And we’re off…

After a rather long journey  from Devon to Suffolk (the old Bedford horsebox only goes at 55 miles per hour top whack!) we began our summer tour with the wonderful Latitude Festival. The weekend was a roaring success (with plenty of real life roaring from our dinosaurs in Jurassic Park). We had a lot of fun and we hope all our movie stars and starlettes did too.

Your mini and very silly masterpieces will be online soon. Please like our facebook page and you’ll be updated as soon as they’re on YouTube.

Gearing up for our festival tour…

After a long winter break our trusty old Bedford TK horsebox is out of the garage ready to roll for our 2012 festival tour! We hope you appreciate the beautiful restored red cab as much as we do! We very much hope to see some familiar faces this summer. We’ll be parking up our mobile movie studio and cinema at 7 festivals… Latitude, Secret Garden Party, Camp Bestival, Green Man, Shambala, End of the Road and Bestival.

Hope to catch you in a field somewhere on our roadshow? We’ll be adding some new movies into the mix this year including dinotastic 90’s blockbuster Jurassic Park! You better start working on your best Tyrannosaurus Rex impression.

VAULT and Valentine’s Movies…

Here are the final results of our busy week of movie making at VAULT festival and Notting Hill Arts Club. Both events were a lot of fun! Thanks to everyone who came along and got involved. I hope you enjoy these rather ramshackle tributes to some iconic Hollywood scenes starring our wonderfully eager audience…

VAULT Video…

For anyone waiting for the video of Friday at VAULT to be uploaded, it will be here by the end of the week. If you join our facebook or twitter then you’ll be updated as soon as it’s ready for you to view.

Videopia does Valentine’s Day at Notting Hill Arts Club…

After a wonderful evening of movie making at VAULT festival on Friday we’re going to be returning to our beloved old haunt Notting Hill Arts Club on Tuesday 14th February. We’ll be joining forces with the regular weekday party No Quarter to bring you a Valentine’s Day special… we’ll be inviting you to grab a co-star and act out schmaltzy scenes from romantic films. If you fancy starring in the diner scene from When Harry Met Sally or reliving a cheesey but touching moment from Titantic come down from 7pm. There will also be live acts and the brilliant Soundtracks DJs spinning classic tunes from all your favourite movies until 2am.

Videopia at VAULT on Friday 10th February…

Facebook Event     Buy Tickets

VAULT, The Old Vic Tunnels, Leake Street, London SE1 8SW

     Doors 10pm – 1.30am Entry £7

We’re massively excited to be throwing a one off party on Friday 10th February as part of the VAULT festival at the Old Vic Tunnels.

Videopia are back in town with an all new interactive show that invites you to star in a very silly piece of homemade cinema which we’ll cast, shoot and screen live on the night. Join us as we attempt to create the ultimate Hollywood inspired blockbuster on a shoestring. With a mashup of scenes throughout the ages, Videopia will take you on a journey from black and white silent movies to modern cult classics and beyond.

Once the director’s hollered, “That’s a wrap!” We’ll pack up the camera and make way for the Videopia DJs, who’ll be on hand with a record bag full of Prince, Bowie and a ton of modern indie-electro classics to boot.

The video created on the night will be uploaded onto the Videopia blog after the event. If you’re brave enough to take part you’ll be able to show off your on screen acting talent to your mum and dad, your mates and your newly acquired fan base.

Forget going to see the latest 3D movie at your local multiplex, this is a rip riotous multisensory filmic experience that doesn’t even require the dopey glasses.
